Business Card Size: mm, cm and Pixels

The standard across Egypt and the Middle East is 85 × 54 mm — essentially bank-card size, so it fits a wallet without bending.

  • 85 × 54 mm = 8.5 × 5.4 cm
  • 1004 × 638 px at 300 dpi
  • 3 mm bleed on each side
  • 4 mm safe margin for text

Why this exact size?

85 × 54 mm is very close to the ISO/IEC 7810 ID-1 standard used for bank and smart cards. That means the card fits any wallet worldwide and can hold a standard NFC inlay.

In the US the common size is 89 × 51 mm (3.5 × 2 in), so confirm the target market before printing.

Bleed and safe margin — the crucial difference

Bleed extends the background 3 mm beyond the trim line so a slight cutting drift never leaves a white edge.

Safe margin is 4 mm inside the trim — anything inside it is guaranteed not to be cut. Simple rule: background out, text in.

ROVYA smart card dimensions

ROVYA cards use the same 85 × 54 mm standard, 0.8 mm thick for PVC and 0.5–0.8 mm for stainless steel. The chip is embedded, so the surface stays perfectly flat.

What is the business card size in cm?

8.5 × 5.4 cm, equal to 85 × 54 mm, or 9.1 × 6 cm with bleed included.

What size in pixels for Photoshop?

1004 × 638 px at 300 dpi, or 1075 × 709 px including a 3 mm bleed.

Is a smart card thicker than a normal one?

No. A smart PVC card is around 0.8 mm — the same as a bank card, with the chip fully embedded.
